EXCLUSIVE REVIEW: JAEGER LECOULTRE MASTER HOMETIME

We are starting the week in the best way possible.

I might risk it when saying it’s possible one of the best articles about one of the best watches i’ve tried till todays days.

We even did a Instagram contest where we challenged all our followers and fellow watch enthusiast friends to try to guess the correct model and name of this watch.

Not an easy task if I must say.

I personally never heard of this amazing watch till a couple of weeks ago.

Let me introduce you to the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Hometime “100 Jahre Oeding-Erdel”.

Let's get to know this intriguing timepiece.

The Master Hometime features hours, minutes, seconds and a second time zone. therefore “HOMETIME”.

This JLC Master Hometime surely has one of the most beautiful dials i’ve seen. A beautiful satin silver brushed dial with the fixation point of the hands being the origin of the brushed effect.

As we tried the Hometime we started to acknowledge its magnificent finishing that JLC persistently delivers.

The first characteristic that pops out is the hour markers and hands that are beautifully polished. As many of you do, in DAILY.DIOGOCOSTA we give lots of importance to perfectionism in every detail, especially on the watch hands and hour markers.

And we love the “spear” shaped hands!

As you turn the watch you will start to notice that the dial, although in satin silver, it changes to a beautiful soft brown color with amazing degrade.

Regarding the dial organization, the second time zone is shown in a half-circle bar with a rotating hour plate, the JLC logo is situated at 8 o'clock making it not so easily seen. but don't get me wrong, I actually think this feature gives the dial a less complicated look, showing the its main characteristics as highlights.

The petit seconde ( sub-dial) makes it even more perfect for us. Like a small touch of simpleness.

Now the surprising part…

This is not just “one more” JLC Master Hometime, it happens to be a very limited edition, to only 35 pieces. Made especially to the well known haute horlogerie retailer “Jahre Oeding-Erdel”.

And even though this is a 35 piece only model, guess what, this is the number 1/35!!

In mint condition, with papers and documents it's like finding a treasure!

Now let's talk about its features.

The watch was made in 2006 with the caliber 972T with 29 jewels.

The case measures a comfortable 41mm of diameter with the normal 12mm of case thickness.

The case is made of stainless steel and the bracelet is made from alligator skin.

The back features a sapphire back glass where you can see the Hometime heart that JLC beautifully makes.

I want to personally thank Museu Do Relógio ( The Watch Museum ) for the opportunity to shoot this amazing watch.

You can see the location, collection (that is huge!) and all the info right here.

All the photos you see here were taken by our main photographer, Alex.
